“The RCBC 3+1 program offered me an excellent education and gave me the opportunity to save the money associated with most other bachelor’s programs,” Barsocchi said. “I was able to attend a school close to home and continued to work throughout the program. This truly helped me to build my resume through job and volunteer experiences.”

“Who would have thought my mom's worries about me being away would cultivate the best option ever? Starting out at RCBC, I only wanted to skate by and move on, but I soon learned that the college provided so much with regard to knowledge and hands-on experience, even more so than previous jobs I held,” Timothy shared. “Every class and assignment started to make more and more sense after I began working in the field. I can’t you tell how many times I would get a new project at work and the first thing I would say was ‘I did this in class; let me use it as a reference.’

“We’re offering virtual orientations this summer, including Baron Bundles for students who still need testing, registration assistance and advising,” Dahms shared. “We’re also working on building an online orientation module for students to self-pace through the process.”

The competition, pegged Battle of the Barons, pits various college departments against one another in weekly matches to win a $1,000 prize to go toward a project supporting their students. The larger goal, however, is to raise a collective $100,000 to go toward the abovementioned causes.

“RCBC’s cost for the 3+1 program is unmatched and will not leave me with crippling student debt like so many of my friends and family who’ve completed their bachelor’s degrees elsewhere,” Colleen said. “It’s also a very short drive from my house, offers a wide range of classes and truly accommodates adult learners.”

“92% percent of apprentices who go through employers are retained and stay there for many years because they see they are valued and see that they are part of the career ladder,” Kallert said.
