Are you a student or parent of a student who’s transitioning to their first year of college? Don’t miss Rowan College at Burlington County’s upcoming Facebook Town Hall this Wednesday, April 21, at 1 pm.

Guests Adrianne Dahms, assistant director of Student Life at RCBC; Cara Lawton, acting director of Advising and Retention at RCBC; and student Domenica Rosati will discuss a robust summer lineup including English and Math Blast Bootcamps, summer course offerings and RCBC orientations.

“We’re offering virtual orientations this summer, including Baron Bundles for students who still need testing, registration assistance and advising,” Dahms shared. “We’re also working on building an online orientation module for students to self-pace through the process.”

Domenica Rosati touted RCBC’s orientation for keeping students abreast of important upcoming dates and reviewing processes every student should know.

“It gave me a better sense of what to expect,” Rosati said. “I would recommend orientation for any student. If you don’t go, you’re going to end up asking other people how to do things.”

Rosati, who was recently accepted into Rowan University’s Honors College, took two summer classes at RCBC last year during separate 7-week terms. She said the flexible summer scheduling enabled her to focus all of her attention on one class at a time and to graduate within the recommended timeframe.

Summer classes aren’t just geared toward current college students, however. Cara Lawton emphasizes that they’re a great option for high school students, as there are multiple terms/classes with flexible start dates, including the college’s new English and Math Blast Bootcamps, which prepare new students for college-level work.

“The second 7-week and 9-week summer terms are specifically geared toward high school students,” Lawton said.

Join the town hall to learn more about the above-mentioned initiatives, as well as upcoming virtual parent nights and career fairs at RCBC. As always, we welcome questions and comments throughout the livestream.
