"The only thing better than a warm cup of coffee is getting that brew from a college student who is earning college credit, an income and developing the entrepreneurial skills they will need to succeed in the modern business world," RCBC President Dr. Michael A. Cioce said. "I raise my mug to Saxbys for developing this innovative learning module that aligns so well with Rowan College at Burlington County's mission and classroom to career focus. Kudos to everyone at Saxbys and RCBC who have worked for the past several months to create this awesome opportunity for students."

“RCBC is one of the most affordable and reputable colleges in New Jersey; it was an easy choice from the beginning,” Borden said. “I graduated in 2019 at such a low price without sacrificing the quality of education I was getting!”

“This is our way of helping RCBC, so they can help us,” Alexander Silvestro, of Lockheed Martin, said. “The technicians who report to me use this equipment on a daily basis. If RCBC students use it in their classrooms, they will come to me a step ahead. Students having this advanced capability make them a more attractive hire for Lockheed and the industry, as well.”

“After discussing career opportunities with Tecomet, they agreed that RCBC’s curriculum was perfect for what I needed to improve and advance in my career,” Miller said. “Upon completing the RCBC courses for the machinist program and considering my career path, it made the decision a no-brainer."

“My entire experience was exceptional,” Pedano shared. “I couldn’t have asked for anything better. I got the same education through RCBC that I would have if I went to Johnson and Wales or the Culinary Institute of America. From the cost and financial standpoint, the Culinary Center in Mount Holly really delivers and got me to where I wanted to be.”

“The whole program was a memorable experience! To be able to work hands-on with the machines in my field as a group and discovering the trade secrets that help me in my everyday job was truly fulfilling,” Miller said. “The most memorable experience overall was being able to pull through as a whole during the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. We had the support from RCBC’s Workforce Development team every step of the way until the end!”

“There are several aspects of this event that bear importance to me,” RCBC’s Director of Culinary Programs Desmond Keefe said. “First, this event is very special to me because my father passed away from colon cancer. Awareness is so important for prevention. In his case, once he was diagnosed, it was too late for treatment. Secondly, any time I have an opportunity to give students a chance to compete, I get very excited -- especially this year because the winning student will enter their recipe in the Mount Holly Fire and Ice competition in 2022. Finally, The Deborah Heart and Lung Institute is an important partner for us, and I am thrilled to have them as a big part of this event.”
