Women in Sustainable Employment (WISE)

The modules for the program include: Basic & Emerging Principles and Concepts, Safety Compliance, Electric Power Generation, Electric Power & Natural Gas Transmission, and Electric & Natural Gas Distribution. The training provides an industry-recognized credential from the Center for Energy Workforce Development.

This program is funded through the Department of Labor's Women and Minorities in Construction grant.

To be eligible you must meet the requirements below:

• Meet Dept. of Labor definition of minority groups

• Reside in NJ

• HS Diploma or GED

• Valid driver's license

• 18 years of age at time of program completion

• Complete career interest assessment

• Complete employer screening

• Complete Reading/Math basic skills test prep and assessment

• Pass drug test prior to and after program

Some programs are grant-funded, if you meet the grant eligibility requirements there is no cost to you.
