Lauren Turse began her education at Rowan College at Burlington County (RCBC) when she was 14 years old. Now at 18, she will be graduating this spring with three degrees, English, Biology and Psychology.

Turse, from Hainesport, has been homeschooled since she was in fourth grade, and applied to RCBC her freshman year of high school. When she graduates she will have 119 credits and has been able to maintain a 4.0 GPA the entire time. She has been selected to receive the president’s award this year, and received the Lewis M. Parker Student Leader of the Year Award.  

Turse is president of the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success, vice president of the Math Club and Math Honor Society (Mu Alpha Theta), Student Government vice president of community service and a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She has completed the Mensa challenge of reading more than 100 of the world’s most renowned classics. She was also a member of the code of conduct board for the 2017-2018 school year. This semester she is a part of Undergraduate Research. Her group’s project, which won second place at the poster symposium, compared various over the counter cannabidiol CBD products. Their goal was to find out if the product actually contains CBD oil or another oil. In the future she would like to go to medical school to become either a plastic surgeon or a dermatologist.

Outside of school she enjoys playing the piano, surfing and hanging out with her pets.
