Looking to increase your cultural awareness in a fun and inclusive environment? Rowan College at Burlington County has something for everyone throughout Black History Month. Whether you enjoy music, films, fashion, history or delicious food, RCBC checks all of the boxes. 

Join us throughout the month of February to celebrate African American history and culture. Events include:

  • February 5 - Fashion Noir - 6 p.m. - Mount Laurel Campus, Student Success Center - Hosted by RCBC’s Fashion Club, in partnership with Atlantic City Fashion Week, this event features designs by local and national African American designers.

  • February 7 - Harriet Movie Screening - 7 p.m. - Mount Laurel Campus, Votta Hall Auditorium - View this extraordinary tale of Harriet Tubman’s escape from slavery and transformation into one of America’s greatest heroes, whose courage, ingenuity and tenacity freed hundreds of slaves and changed the course of history. 

  • February 20 - Community Choir Sing-Off - 6 p.m. - Mount Laurel Campus, Votta Hall Auditorium - Celebrate unity and African American culture through song, featuring choirs throughout our region. 

  • February 23 - Soulful Luncheon - 3 p.m. - Mount Holly Campus, Culinary Arts Center - Enjoy a cooking demo by Chef Tim Witcher and a lunch prepared by Chef James Brudnicki and RCBC Culinary Arts and Hospitality students. Tickets are $15 and available for purchase at rcbc.edu/aacc 

  • February 29 - An Evolution of African American Music - 3 pm - Mount Laurel Campus, Student Success Center - Embark on a musical journey through the cultural history of African American music, featuring performances, as well as visual elements of music. This event is in partnership with the Burlington County Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
