Molly Riffle

Northern Burlington County Regional High School’s Molly Riffle got a jump-start on her future by taking college classes at Rowan College at Burlington County’s Mount Laurel Campus.

“I wanted to advance my learning opportunities while in high school,” said the 16-year-old. “Taking classes at RCBC during the summer allowed me to concentrate on my studies in industrial design and architecture during the regular school year.”

Riffle, of Crosswicks, took her foreign language high school requirements, French 1 and 2, and received college credit in the process.

“Taking the courses freed up my schedule and I was able to take additional math and art classes this year,” she said.

In addition to being a part of her high school’s Technology Student Association and playing lacrosse, Riffle took the initiative to get involved at RCBC.  She recently participated in the college’s business plan competition, Startup Stars, volunteered her time to service projects organized by the RCBC student environmental club, and offered a helping hand during RCBC’s Science Slam, and other community events.

After she graduates high school, Riffle wants to finish an associate degree at RCBC and then study architecture at Virginia Tech. She would like to become an architect and create unique, green spaces and sustainable living communities.

RCBC’s College Head Start programs provide pathways for high school students who want to earn college credit while still in high school. There are opportunities for high school students to take college classes at an RCBC campus, in their high schools or even earn an entire associate degree before they graduate.
