New students who complete 15 credits by summer 2021 can earn $500 toward their spring courses through Rowan College at Burlington County’s (RCBC) new Get Started Now! award.

“There are a million reasons why Rowan College at Burlington County is the best starting point for a college education and Get Started Now! offers 500 more,” RCBC President Dr. Michael A. Cioce said. “Some students are considering a break in their education and our goal is to provide a small incentive for them to keep moving forward and earn college credits while staying safe at home.”

The award is available to all new students who have no prior college experience. Students will qualify even if they have earned RCBC credit through dual enrollment or the College Acceleration Program (CAP). Eligible students who complete 15 credits over the summer and fall semesters will receive $500 toward any out-of-pocket tuition and required fees if they take at least 12 credits in the spring. 

The new award coincides with the college’s new Transfer Certificate that allows students to complete 31 general education credits that can count as a freshman year at RCBC and many four-year colleges and universities.

“With so much uncertainty in the fall, there’s no reason to pay top dollar for amenities that may not be available in the fall,” Cioce said. “Invest in yourself. Get started now, and we’ll return that investment with a quality education that can transfer to most four-year schools, and some cash for your spring classes.”

The college has created a committee to examine several factors on how, and when, to safely resume on-campus activities.

“As the state has begun to re-open, we look forward to a safe return to campus. If we cannot immediately return to campus, we have four decades of experience with distance learning that have prepared us to provide excellent education,” Cioce said. “At RCBC, great education can continue, whether online or on-campus, while we make the health and safety of our students, faculty and community our top concern.”
