Sandra and Forrest Blood picking up their meal from Vaulted Cuisine

For Sandra and Forrest Blood III, Rowan College at Burlington County is a family affair spanning multiple generations. Their son Forrest IV graduated from the college in 1982 with two degrees before earning his bachelor’s in engineering from The College of New Jersey. Their daughter Karen studied at RCBC, and their grandchildren Michael, Nicholas and Danielle have all graduated from the college within the past five years. They also have yet another granddaughter set to begin her studies at RCBC in fall 2022.

“I cannot leave anyone out because we love that college and highly recommend it,” Sandra shared. “It is affordable and produces real results for their future.”

Beyond their familial connection with the college, Sandra and Forrest, of Willingboro, also foster a storied history with RCBC’s Vaulted Cuisine, the culinary department’s student-run restaurant now offering curbside pickup. In fact, for the past five or six years, they’ve enjoyed numerous meals there, beginning with delicious lunches. Their most recent meal, however, was unforgettable in more than one way. For their 60th wedding anniversary, they opted to order from the Vaulted Cuisine. Sandra ordered the garlic and herb stuffed peppers, the herb-roasted pork tenderloin and the strawberry shortcake, while Forrest opted for the beet carpaccio, shrimp scampi and the same dessert.

“We were not prepared for what happened as we waited in line for our order,” Sandra recalled. “Suddenly, a group of young people came to our car dressed in white aprons, along with their professor. They all had big smiles and balloons and an anniversary card in hand. It was quite overwhelming and very nice! Only one other time in my 79 years have I received balloons and the occasion was not so joyful. But this time I was surrounded by smiling faces and happy people. They all had signed the card and wished us many good things too.”

The Bloods remembered having so much fun that night and even remarked about how the food remained warm throughout their drive from Mount Holly back to Willingboro. They were also pleased with the generous portion sizes and even saved some of their strawberry shortcake for breakfast the following morning.

“We could not wait to get home to eat! Everything was delicious, and although we do not eat out very often, we think other places never seem to be as good as Vaulted Cuisine,” Sandra shared. “We recommend Vaulted Cuisine all the time to people, and even advertise for them on our Facebook page. The food and service exceeds our expectations every time. Our anniversary was very special because of them!”
