2024 Pre-College Learning Institute Recap

This year, EOF welcomed 22 first-year EOF scholars to campus for the 2024 summer Pre-College Learning Institute. The free, week-long program provides an opportunity for first-time students to get a head start into college life with educational enrichment, leadership development, team building, and college preparation workshops. On Wednesday, July 31st, the EOF scholars and staff had the opportunity to visit GoApe!, an outdoor adventure experience in Bear, Delaware where they were able to participate in ziplining, tree top ropes courses, and various team building activities.

What is Pre-College Learning Institute?

The Pre-College Learning Institute (PCLI) is an enrichment program designed to aid first-time EOF scholars with the transition from high school to college. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with other EOF scholars, staff and campus partners. The week-long program will include meetings and activities with your assigned EOF counselor and peer counselor, participation in educational enrichment, interpersonal skills-building activities, workshops, career exploration and community service

Yes! Pre-College Learning Institute is required for first-year, first-time scholars with plans to attend RCBC for the upcoming Fall semester.

Yes! All EOF scholars accepted into the program attend Pre-College Learning Institute at no cost. All supplies, food and activities are covered.

You must be enrolled in RCBC and an incoming first-time EOF scholar. Additionally, you must complete the EOF eligibility verification process with the Office of Financial Aid and submit any requested documents.

You will receive everything you need from the EOF Staff for the week, just bring your smiling faces!
