Stephanie Berdugo-Hernandez

Stephanie Berdugo-Hernandez: Biology ‘15

Stephanie Berdugo-Hernandez, a distinguished alumna of Rowan College at Burlington County's Class of 2015, holds an Associate's degree in Biology. Stephanie's journey at RCBC was marked by her appreciation for the dedicated staff at EOF, whom she described as "amazing at ensuring all EOF students thrive in their classes and college experience." Her leadership abilities shone through as she served as RCBC EOF Club President, HESSA Student Advisory Committee Chair, and HESAA Board Member.

Building upon her RCBC foundation, Stephanie completed her 3+1 Biology program at Rowan University, graduating in 2022. Her academic prowess led her to acceptance into the Rutgers School of Public Health, where she is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Global Public Health. Stephanie's inspiring message to students is one of resilience and determination, encouraging them to persevere relentlessly in pursuit of their dreams.

Khaliyah Miller-Biney

Khaliyah Leach: Business Administration ‘16

Khaliyah Leach, a 2016 graduate of Rowan College at Burlington County with an Associates in Business Administration, is an exemplary alumnus who made the most of her college experience. During her time on campus, she served as a dedicated student worker in various departments, including the Workforce Development Institute (WDI) and the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF), and later became the President of the International Club.

Her outstanding GPA earned her induction into Phi Theta Kappa, and she fondly recalls the invaluable support she received from the EOF program. Khaliyah continued her academic journey at Rowan University, graduating Magna Cum Laude in Public Relations and Advertising. She has since made a significant impact, working with international high schoolers in Central New Jersey and currently works in higher education, where she offers sage advice to EOF scholars about the college process. Khaliyah Leach is a shining example of determination and success in higher education.

Ashley Pezzolla

Ashley Pezzolla: Psychology ‘18

Ashley Pezzolla, a proud alumna of Rowan College at Burlington County's Class of 2018, holds an Associate's degree in Psychology. As a NJ STARS student, Ashley's commitment to excellence was evident through her graduation with high honors and consistent presence on the Dean's list throughout her academic journey.

As a first-generation college student, she faced the challenge of self-funding her education, a hurdle she overcame through her relentless pursuit of grants and on-campus employment tailored to her academic schedule.

Over the course of six years, Ashley contributed her talents to the Advising Office, and she currently serves as a valuable member of the RCBC community in her role as Administrative Assistant to the Executive Offices within the President's Office. Ashley wholeheartedly encourages students to tap into the abundant resources available at RCBC and to foster meaningful connections through networking. Her journey is a testament to the transformative power of dedication and resourcefulness in achieving academic and professional success.

Nazim Tijani

Nazim Tijani: Liberal Arts and Sciences ‘21

Nazim Tijani, a distinguished alumnus of Rowan College at Burlington County, Class of 2021, proudly holds an Associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences. Nazim's college journey was enriched by his active participation in various EOF events, where he not only expanded his network but also found a sense of belonging, describing EOF as his "home away from home." Embracing his uniqueness, Nazim is poised to make his mark in the tech world, driven by tenacity and courage.

He firmly believes in the perpetual pursuit of knowledge, stating, "Learning is a lifelong process, so whatever knowledge can get me closer to being successful, whether it is an opportunity to network or step outside of my comfort zone, I will dive headfirst into it." Nazim's wisdom extends to students, urging them to introspect and discover their true selves, free from the distractions of social media and external influences. His journey exemplifies the transformative power of self-discovery and relentless pursuit of excellence.

Robert Pugliese

Robert Pugliese: Psychology '19

Robert Pugliese graduated from Rowan College at Burlington County in 2019 with his Associates in Psychology.

Reflecting on his education, Robert highlights the "excellent" experience shaped by engaging professors and unwavering support from EOF counselors. A passionate advocate for socializing, he enjoyed participating in student dining hall dinners and school trips, fostering a vibrant campus community.

The EOF workshops, in particular, equipped him with valuable wisdom to navigate challenges. Building strong friendships came naturally in the supportive community, and the dedicated staff consistently motivated him to excel in his education.

During his academic journey, Robert made the Dean’s List every semester, earned the prestigious title of EOF scholar, and served as the club secretary. He was also honored with invitations to join the National Society of Leadership and Success and Chi Alpha Epsilon. Completing his Bachelor’s in Psychology at Rowan University through the 3+1 program in 2022, Robert currently serves as an academic tutor and aspires to pursue a Master’s in Social Work. Advocating for purposeful advantage-taking of opportunities, Robert views the EOF experience as a radiant gem of great riches and encourages students to seize such transformative possibilities.
