Behind the Baron Student Model Q&A: Jiya Bhatt and Kristal Thompson

The Pre-College Learning Institute
Location: Votta Hall, Room 135 - Mount Laurel Campus
The Pre-College Learning Institute is an enrichment program designed to aid first-time EOF scholars with the transition from high school to college. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with other EOF scholars, staff, and campus partners. The week-long program will include meetings and activities with your assigned EOF counselor and peer counselor, participation in educational enrichment, interpersonal skills-building activities, workshops, career exploration, and community service.
Special Board of Trustees Meeting
In accordance with the Open Public Meeting Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et seq., notice is hereby given that there shall be a Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees of Rowan College at Burlington County to be held on Thursday, Dec. 18 at 5:30 pm. The Special Meeting will be held in-person and streamed live. The in-person meeting shall take place at the Rowan College at Burlington County, Mount Laurel Campus, in the Student Success Center, Room 138.

After setbacks, Sherria Hannah rebuilds through education and earns President’s Award
Beginning in 2020, Rowan College at Burlington County student Sherria Hannah faced challenges that few could have imagined. First, she lost her mother. A week later, she had a stroke, from which she fortunately recovered. The next year, in 2021, she developed Guillain-Barré syndrome, an autoimmune disease that affects the body’s nervous system, taking from her the ability to walk for nine months.
After a 12-year delay in higher education, RCBC student Yvonne Tai earns valedictorian
When Rowan College at Burlington County student Yvonne Tai goes up on stage to retrieve her diploma at winter commencement, it won’t be the last time she’ll be up there. Because at spring 2026 commencement, she’s coming back, and not just for the completion of one more degree or two, but for three degrees. Once her time at RCBC is complete, Tai will have earned four associate degrees in two years.
