Pharmacy technicians have faster-than-average growth opportunities in the industry.

Pharmacy technicians are an integral part of the pharmacy team. They play critical roles in patient care and are responsible for crucial functions, such as sterile compounding, inventory management, medication distribution, and other essential medication and administrative functions.

  • The average entry-level salary is more than $40,000 in Burlington County
  • Earn your certification within 8 weeks

Course Information

  • Meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8 am to noon at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Pemberton
  • Plus, 24 hours of job shadowing experience
  • Course completed in 8 weeks

Pharmacy technicians are in demand and work in many positions:

  • Hospital pharmacy
  • IV Compounding Technician
  • Medication Reconciliation Technician
  • Pharmacy Buyer/Inventory Specialist
  • Drug Program Analyst/Buyer
  • Pharmacy Informatics
  • Immunization Administration

All requirements must be completed by Friday of the first week of class. Please note that it can take two weeks to approximately two months to complete the requirements.

  • Physical Exam
  • Immunizations including Tdap, flu, PPD, and titers for MMR, Hepatitis B, and Varicella (quantitative labs results only) (if not immune, then boosters are required)
  • Proof of Health Insurance
  • Liability insurance
  • Clear criminal background and urine drug screen
  • Purchase of scrubs (instructor will advise color/style)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 18 years or older
  • Must own a laptop and have reliable access to the internet
  • American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification
