Advertising Major Map

This pathway leads to a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising from Rowan University!

This is a sample schedule for your RCBC courses. Please make an appointment with your academic advisor in AVISO for a personalized plan. Below is a sample schedule for students in RCBC's Liberal Arts, option Communication Arts degree (AA.COM).  AA.COM is the recommended associate degree at RCBC.

  • Math: MTH-107 or higher (3CR)
  • Artistic Literacy: ART 101, MUS 101, or THR 101 (3CR)
  • Elective  (3CR)

Semester 2
(16 credits)

  • ENG 102 College Composition II (3CR)
  • Diversity Course (see associate degree for options) (3CR) 
  • SPE 102 Public Speaking (3CR)
  • Natural Science with lab (see associate degree for options) (4CR)
  • COM 200 Bus. & Prof. Communication for AA.COM (3CR)

Electives are any RCBC course; email your academic advisor for questions about electives.

Semester 3
(15 credits)

  • SOC 207 Communication, Mass Media, & Society (3CR)
  • Social Science (see associate degree for options) (3CR)
  • History (see associate’s degree for options) (3CR)
  • THR 125 Voice and Diction for AA.COM (3CR)
  • Literature (PHI 205 or any LIT except LIT 215 and LIT 218) (3CR) 

C or higher required in SOC 207 and BUA 220.

 

THR 125 is a fall only course.

Semester 4
(15 credits)

  • ENG 252 Semantics  for AA.COM (3CR)
  • Elective (3CR)
  • COM Elective: JOU 101, COM 105, COM 212, or COM 220 for AA.COM (3CR)
  • PHI 105 Logic (3CR)
  • BUA 220 Principles of Marketing (3CR)

If you complete all recommended and required courses, you will earn an AA.COM degree after semester 4.

 

Rowan University Courses

Total Credits: 59

Courses are taken on the Glassboro Campus. Students need to apply to Rowan University in their last semester at RCBC. Students are automatically admitted if they graduate from RCBC with an AA or AS degree, have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 (including all colleges attended), and complete the traditional transfer application process. Please meet with your Rowan University academic advisor to plan your courses at Rowan University.
