Earn College Credit for Your Experience
You’ve worked hard and gained valuable experience, and now it’s time to turn that into college credit.
Through our Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) program, you can earn credit for the knowledge and skills you’ve gained through work and life experience. Here’s how:
Ways to Earn Credit:
- Portfolio Assessment: Create a portfolio that highlights your relevant work and life experiences.
- College-Level Examination Program (CLEP): Pass a CLEP exam to demonstrate your mastery of college-level material.
- Industry Credentials: Receive credit for certifications or credentials you’ve earned in fields like healthcare, manufacturing, supply chain, and technology.
How does the portfolio assessment work?
With guidance from a faculty mentor, you’ll develop a portfolio showcasing your experience. After review, your mentor will recommend whether your portfolio qualifies for college credit. If eligible, you’ll pay just $50 per credit, saving you hundreds compared to standard tuition costs.
Cost Comparison for Portfolio Assessment:
Portfolio Assessment | Standard RCBC Cost | Savings with PLA | |
---|---|---|---|

Per Credit Cost | $50 | $228 | $178 |
