Will RCBC accept my life experience for college credit?

Through our Prior Learning Assessment (PLA), you can earn college credit for your life and work experience. Here’s how:

  1. Earn credit and create a portfolio that showcases your relevant work/life experience.

  2. Earn credit by passing a College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) exam.

  3. Receive credit for Workforce certificate(s) or industry credentials you’ve earned in areas like healthcare, manufacturing, supply chain and technology. 

How does the portfolio assessment work?

You will develop a portfolio with guidance from a faculty mentor. Upon review of your portfolio, your mentor will make a recommendation as to whether your portfolio warrants college credit. Once you’re deemed eligible, you will pay $50/credit. See the chart below for the cost breakdown and discover how much you can save:
