RCBC alum enjoys fulfilling CAD career

Alex Wolf has held an interest in engineering since learning about it from his father. When considering what to study after high school, he decided to begin with Rowan College at Burlington County’s manufacturing machinist program. There, he learned blueprint reading, applied math, job layout, hand and power tools, manual milling, manual lathe, grinding, band saw and CNC lathe and mill machines. Upon completion of the program, he chose to continue his studies with an engineering degree from RCBC, citing the college’s affordability and convenience.

With the support of an open-minded president, Rowan College at Burlington County has spent the past few years redefining the concept of their annual reports, adding fun and functionality into the process for both the audience and the marketing team. From a high-gloss magazine to a calendar to a classic newspaper complete with a comic strip, the marketing team’s efforts have paid off in the form of National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) Medallion awards for consecutive years. 

From unemployed to onward and upward: RCBC alum takes control of his future

When Rowan College at Burlington County alum Michael Thornburg found himself unemployed with four kids to support, he knew he had to pivot in a big way. That’s when he turned his attention to RCBC’s Cisco CCNA program. There, he gained a broader knowledge of technology, including internet protocols, network security and router configuration. 

Lifelong learner and EMS Nurse of the Year joins RCBC’s paramedic science faculty

When a person stays in the same field for over 30 years, it’s safe to bet that it’s their passion. And for Rowan College at Burlington County paramedic science instructor Tracy Iglesias, that passion is EMS, and her background is extensive.

Her background, passion and expertise recently culminated in earning Nurse of the Year from the 2021 National Conference on EMS.

RCBC’s Give Kids a Smile Day to offer free dental care on February 4

February is the perfect month to catch Punxsutawney Phil, watch the Big Game and take care of your teeth? That’s right. It’s Give Kids a Smile Month! This national initiative helps underserved children get the dental care they need - for FREE. Rowan College at Burlington County will join the charge along with over 30,000 dental professionals across the country on the first Friday in February. 

RCBC’s third podcast episode to center around communications

Whether taking a public speaking course incites anxiety, excitement or indifference, it’s typically a requirement for many students looking to major in communications. The good news? Rowan College at Burlington County’s third episode of “The Program Pod” aims to unpack how students can overcome their fears of public speaking and increase their confidence and hire-ability in the communications sector. 

From gaming to gaining, RCBC student couple reduce anxiety and level up their career aspirations

For Michael Chulsky-Lopez and Scott Kubic, Rowan College at Burlington County offers flexibility, guaranteed admission to the four-year college of their choices and the invaluable experience of overcoming their anxieties. 

Chulsky-Lopez, who studies creative writing and business, transferred to RCBC from Brookdale Community College after realizing he couldn’t complete his full degree online. When it came time for him to nearly finish his studies, he found that several critical classes were not offered online.
