Achieving English proficiency can transform careers for immigrant and refugee healthcare workers, especially those with medical training and clinical experience from other countries who face barriers to re-licensing in the U.S.
Through this program, participants will develop oral and written language proficiency, enhance communication skills, and improve healthcare-specific vocabulary and pronunciation to advance their careers.

- Allied Healthcare: Basic Life Support & CPR
- Allied Healthcare: Phlebotomy
- Introduction to English for Certified Nursing Assistants
- English for Healthcare Professionals
- English for Patient Care & Support
- Introduction to Medical Coding & Billing
- English for Certified Nursing Assistants
- English for Pharmacy Technicians
- English for Sterile Processing
The program also utilizes the mobile platform EnGen, enabling participants to manage their training alongside other personal and professional responsibilities.

RCBC’s General Education Development (GED) Program is designed for individuals without a high school diploma or those whose diplomas are not recognized in the U.S. This program offers a comprehensive approach to help you succeed, starting with assessments to evaluate your academic levels and needs. From there, you’ll follow a customized curriculum covering:
- Language Arts
- Mathematics
- Social Studies
- Science
What to Expect:
- Instructional materials aligned with the GED exam’s content and format
- Flexible learning: Two days of in-person instruction at RCBC’s Mount Laurel Campus, plus two days of online self-study each week
- Optional tutoring is available one day per week
- Individualized support to address specific learning needs
- Progress monitoring to adjust your curriculum as needed
The GED program is free for all participants, and thanks to the PACE Grant, ESL Bridge participants can also take their exams at no cost. This program eliminates barriers to higher education and employment, empowering you to achieve your goals.
Eligibility Requirements
To participate in the RCBC Pre-Apprenticeship ESL Occupational Healthcare Bridge Program, you must meet the following criteria:
- Need for ESL instruction
- Lack of a recognized high school diploma
Additionally, you’ll need to provide the following documentation:
- Proof of identity and residency
- A valid license or state ID
- Must be 16 or older and a resident of New Jersey
- Proof of work eligibility
- A valid Social Security number or proof of permanent residency
- Certificate of Non-Enrollment
- Required for participants aged 16–18, obtainable from your school or school district
