Rowan College at Burlington County is proud to share that its Acting President, Dr. David Spang, recently served as Master of Ceremonies for a regional Eagle Scout Career Dinner honoring the Eagle Scout Class of 2025.

The event, held in collaboration with regional scouting leadership and supported by a coalition of civic and community organizations, recognized the achievements of young people who have attained Scouting’s highest rank. As Master of Ceremonies, Dr. Spang, an Eagle Scout himself, led the program and offered remarks highlighting the values of leadership, service, and personal responsibility that define the Eagle Scout distinction.

A key component of the program was a career mentorship initiative, in which professionals from a range of fields guided the newly recognized Eagle Scouts as they considered future academic and career pathways. Among the mentors was Assistant Professor Joseph Rizzo, an RCBC faculty member, who offered insight into careers in criminology.

In addition to his role as Master of Ceremonies, Dr. Spang also participated as a career mentor, advising Scouts interested in engineering, an area aligned with his professional background in advanced materials and technology.

“The opportunity to support and celebrate these outstanding young individuals reflects our institution’s commitment to leadership development and community engagement,” said Dr. Spang. “We take particular pride in our faculty sharing their expertise as mentors in ways that make a long-lasting impact.”

The event brought together students, families, educators, and community leaders for an afternoon focused on achievement, service, and future opportunity.
