Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Pain is an evidence based program that has been researched and proven to be effective in the quality of life for seniors.  

This 6-week workshop meets once week for a 2 1/2 hour each session and will cover topics such as: 

  • Techniques to deal with frustration, fatigue, isolation and poor sleep
  • Appropriate exercise for maintaining and improving strength, flexibility and endurance 
  • Appropriate use of medications
  • Communicating effectively with family, friends and health professionals
  • Nutritional information and tips 

Along with other valuable information for seniors. 

Classes are highly interactive, where mutual support and success builds the participants’ confidence in their ability to manage their health and maintain active and fulfilling lives.  To join a session please contact us.


Older people doing balance exercisesA Matter of Balance

A Matter of Balance is an 8 session structured group intervention that emphasizes practical strategies to reduce fear of falling and increase activity levels. Participants learn to view falls and fear of falling as controllable, set realistic goals to increase activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and exercise to increase strength and balance.

The program was designed to benefit community-dwelling older adults who:

  • Are concerned about falls
  • Have sustained falls in the past
  • Restrict activities because of concerns about falling
  • Are interested in improving flexibility, balance and strength
  • Are age 55 or older, ambulatory and able to problem solve

Sessions are led by two volunteer peer leaders and are available to be held anywhere within Burlington County. For more general information about this program, please click here.

Chronic-Disease Self-Management Program

This six week community workshop is designed to give people with chronic conditions and/or their caregivers the knowledge and skills needed to take a more active role in their health care.

Participants learn healthier ways to live, gain confidence and motivation to manage their health and feel more positive about life.

Applicable chronic conditions include but are not limited to:

  • Diabetes
  • Arthritis
  • High blood pressure
  • Heart disease
  • Chronic pain

The Take Control of Your Health workshop can help you take charge of your life. Sessions are led by two volunteer peer leaders and can be held for free in any township within Burlington County.

Pain or stiffness in your lower body? Improve the quality of your life!

Fit & Strong! benefits older adults with lower extremity osteoarthritis. Each class includes 60 minutes of exercise and 30 minutes of group discussion and health education.

Learn to:

  • Manage arthritis
  • Exercise safely
  • Decrease joint pain an stiffness
  • Improve daily function
  • Reduce anxiety and depression
  • Develop and maintain an active lifestyle

Free 8 or 12 week programs for a maximum of 25 persons at your venue.
