If someone in an on-campus class tests positive for COVID-19, we will follow the decision-making chart below to determine next steps.

Whether you're in an online course or on-campus course, we ask all Barons to notify us if you believe you have been exposed to, are sick with or have tested positive for COVID.

Students should complete the form and notify your instructor.
Staff/faculty members should complete the form and notify your supervisor.

Does your class have an in-person component?

  • No: your class will be online as a distance (DLC) or virtual live (VLC) course.
  • Yes: your class is marked as an on-campus location or hybrid (HYB) (HMM).
    • Has the instructor received a positive COVID-19 test?
      • Yes:
        • The class will move online and the entire class will quarantine for 10-14 days.
        • Contact tracing will be conducted.
        • Is the instructor able to attend and participate?
          • Yes: The original instructor will teach the course.
          • No: A temporary, substitute instructor will teach the course.
    • No: Has a student received a positive COVID-19 test?
      • Yes:
        • The class will move online and the entire class will quarantine for 10-14 days.
        • Contact tracing will be conducted.
        • Is the student able to attend and participate?
          • Yes: The student will attend remotely.
          • No: The student will pursue an excused absence and make-up accommodations.
      • No: The class will progress on-campus as schedule.
        • Hybrid courses will proceed in-person for their on-campus portions.
