RCBC Global Film Series: A Showing and Discussion of "Silent Waters" (2003, India, Pakistan)

This is the second event in RCBC’s new “Global Film Series," which brings showings and discussions of award-winning foreign-made and foreign language films from various regions of the world to campus twice each semester.

The second film in the series is “Silent Waters” (original title “Khamosh Pani”), a 2003 Punjabi language film, which tells of the rise and influence of Islamic fundamentalism and its effects on a village family in 1970’s Pakistan.

The viewing and discussion will be hosted and moderated by Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator of ESL, Dr. Meral Muyesser. RCBC’s “Global Film Series” provides a place to watch and discuss how recent and current social issues and problems in various nations of the world are expressed and illustrated through high-quality film and cinematography.
