Competition Guidelines

Business Plan Summary

The business plan you develop must be based on a viable, authentic business idea- i.e., a business that could be developed.

Submit an executive summary of your business plan that outlines your business concept along with other required business plan components.  You may submit as an individual or as a group with no more than four team members. Please use the Business Plan Summary Template and Income Statement Template on this website to prepare your plan.

We will host mentoring sessions with business leaders in February to help you prepare your plan and in March to prepare your presentation.  Dates and times will be posted here.

Finalists

Top finalists will have five (5) minutes to present their business summary to judges and the audience.  The presentations may be supplemented by a slide deck (with five to seven slides) or a demonstration. Presenters are expected to provide a sales pitch and forecast of financials, and be prepared to answer questions related to the written proposal.   The judges, who are business experts, will have an opportunity to provide useful feedback and ask questions about your business plan.

Finalists from each of the three categories will compete for prizes and awards on Thursday, April 2 at 6 p.m. in the Student Success Center.  This event is open to the general public. See the exciting presentations of tomorrow's leaders, listen to their amazing ideas, and support them in reaching for the stars.

This is an amazing opportunity to launch your brand and become a Startup Star.
