The Photography Program Faculty welcomes you as a new, returning, or prospective student.

Rowan College at Burlington County’s Associate of Fine Arts Degree Photography Program integrates General Education and Art & Design with a core Photography curriculum that enables students to transfer into a baccalaureate degree program at a four-year institution.

In addition to the A.F.A Photography Program, RCBC also offers a Photography Certificate Program designed for students who are mainly interested in the program’s core photography courses and a faster track to graduation.  Both photography programs establish a solid foundation in the skills necessary to venture into entry-level positions in the professional photography field.  Our goal is to provide an education in photographic practices through a balance of fine art aesthetics and hands-on experience.

Students of both photography programs enjoy a traditional darkroom, modern digital lab facilities, a substantial range of professional lighting equipment for use in our studio or on location, and the unique opportunity to showcase their work in a variety of exhibits hosted by the RCBC Art Gallery throughout the year.

Graduates of the photography programs should be able to:

  • Demonstrate proficiency with analog and digital camera systems for traditional and digital output
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of industry standard image editing software
  • Design lighting set-ups for studio and location photography
  • Produce a cohesive body of work for printed or online presentation
  • Demonstrate entry-level competence in the photography profession

We wish you much success in achieving your academic goals and Associate of Fine Arts Degree in Photography or Photography Certificate at Burlington County College.
