Re-admissions Criteria
This form is for students that were in the Rowan College at Burlington County's Nursing program within the last year.

Please carefully read all of the instructions of the form thoroughly prior to submitting.

Decisions will be sent by email no later than January 9th for the Spring semester and July 15th for the Fall semester.

PLEASE NOTE: readmission to a course after withdraw or failing will be on a space available basis. Due to current clinical restrictions, students may have to wait a semester to repeat a course. For example, if you fail a course in the Fall semester, we may not have room for you to return to repeat the course until the following Fall semester.

Former nursing students seeking readmission into the nursing program must meet the following criteria below:

1. Completion of Nursing Readmission Form below.

2. Attended the RCBC Nursing program within the last year and were not successful in the program. (This also includes students whom were on an "approved" Leave of Absence and now wish to return to the  program.)

3. Student must not have been dismissed from the program for any reason.

If you are conditionally readmitted to the program all students must meet additional criteria (including but not limited to):

1. Undergo a background check (if out for more than one semester)

Readmitted students are required to have clear results, which include any charge regardless of degree or type that appears on background screen.

Eligibility for placement in clinical facilities is a requirement of admission and enrollment in Health Science Division programs specifically in relation to the nursing program: NJAC 13:37-1.8 (h) “Before an individual is admitted to a nursing education program, the program shall inform the individual that a criminal history background check is prerequisite for a licensure as a registered professional nurse”.

Any student with a positive criminal background check will have their admission decision rescinded and should seek legal assistance for expungement (if possible this should be sought prior to re-apply to the program).

2. Undergo a drug screening with negative results (if out for more than one semester).

Readmitted students with either a positive background or a positive drug screen will have their admission decision rescinded.

3. Repeating Failed Courses

If you were out of the program for longer than a year you will have to reapply to start the program over.

NOTE:

Readmission is not guaranteed and the Nursing Program will review every applicant for full consideration.
