RCBC Names New Men’s Basketball Coach

Coach Omuso

Rowan College at Burlington County has named Seigha Omuso the new Men’s Basketball Coach. Omuso is a professional coach, trainer and mentor with more than 10 years of experience working with young people of diverse ages, skill levels and cultural backgrounds in both recreational and competitive settings.

“Coach Omuso, or ‘Coach O’ as he is known throughout our communities values hard work, camaraderie, loyalty, cooperation and enthusiasm, which will benefit student-athletes at Rowan College at Burlington County,” RCBC president Paul Drayton said. “Coach Omuso’s past experiences and reputation in the local athletics community are really going to help him excel at RCBC and assist the Barons reach their full potential on the court and in the classroom.”

Omuso, who is executive director and founder of the The O League, has more than a decade of experience in developing student-athletes. His career highlights include:

  • Graduated from Burlington Township High School where he played varsity basketball for two years before graduating from Cabrini College where he played basketball for four years.
  • Assisted in the development of the Doane Academy High School (Burlington City) basketball program for eight years.
  • Assisted in the development of DeVry University's Men’s and Women’s basketball programs.
  • Integral in the development of South Jersey Dominations, an Amateur Athletic Union basketball club; competing on a national circuit, producing more than a dozen collegiate student-athletes.

“This is an exciting opportunity to help student-athletes balance their athletic and academic successes while learning to come together as a team,” Omuso said. “With the athletic talent in our communities, Rowan College at Burlington County can truly be a premier destination for student-athletes.”

Last year the men’s team captured the top title in the Roadrunner Classic in December, defeating Rowan College at Gloucester County, 70- 59.
