RCBC Basketball Players Pick Up Postseason Awards

Two Rowan College at Burlington County basketball players – Aaliyah Saud-Lewis for the women’s team and Niejel Young for the men’s – picked up postseason awards in All-Region XIX and All-Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC).

Lady Baron Saud-Lewis, a guard and Willingboro resident, was named to the 2015-2016 Division II Women’s Basketball All-Region XIX Second Team and Division II Women’s Basketball All-GSAC First Team. She averaged 18.9 points per game and finished 22nd in the nation.

The Lady Barons basketball team finished as the Conference Runners-Up with an overall record of 11-2, a Region XIX record of 8-8 and a GSAC record of 2-2.

Another guard from the men’s basketball team, Niejel Young, of Gahanna, Ohio, was named to the 2015-2016 Division II Men’s Basketball All-GSAC First Team.

The men’s team finished with an overall record of 6-20, a Region XIX record of 4-11, a GSAC record of 3-4, and captured the top title in the Roadrunner Classic in December, defeating Rowan College at Gloucester County.
