Free Medicare Assistance Available

Medicare enrollment form

Burlington County residents can take advantage of free Medicare assistance at Burlington County College during the open enrollment period, which runs now through Sunday, Dec. 7.

Trained counselors with the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), operated by the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Burlington County (RSVP), can help Medicare recipients and caregivers review current plans and compare new options, understand costs associated with different plans, and navigate the enrollment process.

“It is important to understand your Medicare options,” said Karen Bennett, Director of BCC’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Burlington County (RSVP). “Our dedicated and knowledgeable counselors are here to help residents comprehend the complicated and sometimes overwhelming Medicare information so that they can make informed decisions about their healthcare options.”

The SHIP office has scheduled two free seminars to assist residents during open enrollment:

  • FREE Medicare Educational Presentation: 10 a.m. to noon, Monday, Nov. 10, Burlington County Library, 5 Pioneer Blvd., Westampton. For more information, email kbennett@bcc.edu or call (609) 894-9311, ext. 1494.

  • FREE Medicare Counseling Sessions: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 14, room 220 of Burlington County College’s Willingboro Center, 200 Campbell Drive, Suite 210. Appointments are required.
