Pictured Here: Donald Kessler’s "Fish" will be on display at the Burlington County College Student Art Gallery’s “Best of 2012 Student Showcase,” opening on Friday, Dec. 7. The annual exhibit features the best works of art from BCC’s art and design students. Thirty-one student artists participated in this year's showcase, which will include 84 pieces of the finest art from all mediums including photography, drawing, painting, graphic design, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry and fashion design. Jessica Ward is the curator of the exhibit and it was juried by RJ Haas, Emily Goehringer and James Kent. Volunteers Kimberly Sollimo, Nicole Schiller, Chelsea Shire and Adrian Hutchins, also helped with the showcase. Ceramic mugs by BCC student Tom Henskens will be for sale at the opening reception through the end of the exhibit, Friday, Feb. 1. The opening reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 7. Both the opening reception and exhibit are free. The Gallery is located at BCC’s Mount Holly Center at 1 High Street. Hours are Tuesday through Friday, 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The BCC Student Art Gallery, located in the heart of Mount Holly's Historic Downtown District, is the place for young artists and entrepreneurs to learn how things work in the real-world and serves as a showcase to display and sell original works of art. Themed shows featuring art created by students and professional artists are hosted throughout the year. For more information, visit http://staff.bcc.edu/sgas or call (609) 267-5618 ext. 4509.
