BCC Board of Trustees

The Burlington County College (BCC) Board of Trustees welcomed a new member, Primitivo J. Cruz at its meeting on Tuesday and celebrated the reappointment of current members Chair George Nyikita, Dan Gee and Marilyn Williamson.

“The Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders values education and these appointments ensure that Burlington County College will remain in the very best of hands,” Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio said. “Mr. Cruz will be a dynamic addition to a well-rounded board that produces exceptional results for students in Burlington County. Chair Nyikita, Mr. Gee and Ms. Williamson are excellent leaders who have proven their value to our communities.

“The college’s board is well-suited to move the college forward and advance our new and innovative Workforce Development Initiative, aimed at making it easier for job seekers to find good well-paying jobs,” Garganio added.

Cruz, of Marlton, is an associate at White and Williams LLP with a juris doctorate, magna cum laude, from Rutgers School of Law, in Camden. He served as editor-in-chief of the Rutgers Law Journal and was a graduate fellow of the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University.

“It is an honor and privilege to serve as a trustee of Burlington County College, which serves as a premiere educational institution for residents from all corners of the county,” Cruz said. “Burlington County College has a reputation for not only meeting the current educational needs of the community, but anticipating and adapting to new challenges as they arise.”

Trustees Cruz, Nyikita, Gee and Williamson were all sworn-in Tuesday to fill the remainder of holdover terms.

“We welcome Trustee Cruz and are humbled with the opportunity to continue to serve students and our communities on the Burlington County College Board of Trustees,” Chair Nyikita said. “Serving on this board is an awesome responsibility we take very seriously. Our board has outstanding members whose breadth of experience and expertise represents the ideals of our communities.”

  • Chair Nyikita, of Edgewater Park, has served on the board since 1996 and has led the board since May 2013. He is a consultant with Pennoni Associates.
  • Trustee Gee, of Cinnaminson, has served on the board since 2011 and serves as chair of the Personnel Committee. He is an associate with Parker Young & Antinoff.
  • Trustee Williamson, of Evesham, has served on the board since 1996 and serves as chair of the Academic Committee. She is director of operations for the 8th Legislative District.

“Burlington County College benefits enormously from the tireless dedication of members of the Board of Trustees,” BCC Interim President Dr. David Spang said. “We are grateful for their contributions and look forward to working with the new and returning trustees in our effort to make Burlington County College the destination for students seeking educational, career and personal success.”
