Geoscience Program

scientistsGeoscience is a collective term that represents an amalgam of the primary sciences that focus on the natural Earth. Disciplines that would be represented include geology, meteorology, oceanography, climatology, and environmental science.  The study of the Earth has occurred for the last thousand years and great strides in our understanding of earth processes continue today  Despite the vast amount of knowledge scientists have acquired, many people are still unfamiliar with the earth and its processes.

To maintain momentum in the awareness and appreciation of the Earth and its many processes, Rowan College at Burlington County has developed an Associate of Science degree in Geoscience. This degree program will train students in the fundamentals of earth science concepts, preparing them for transfer to a four-year institution to continue their education to acquire employment in a geoscience field or higher education.
