Reading with poet Major Jackson
Rowan College at Burlington County’s English & Literature department and the office of Student Life, invite the community to a reading with poet Major Jackson on Tuesday, March 7. Jackson will read from his latest collection of poetry called, Roll Deep, in the college’s TEC Lounge at 5 p.m.
As told by the New York Times, “Roll Deep is a remixed Odyssey whose speaker rolls deep the same way Odysseus did as he worried and warred far from home, by staying true to where he’s from.”
Jackson is the Richard Dennis Green and Gold Professor at University of Vermont and a core faculty member of the Bennington Writing Seminars. He served as a creative arts fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University, as the Jack Kerouac Writer-in-Residence at University of Massachusetts-Lowell and currently serves as the Poetry Editor of the Harvard Review.
This is a free event hosted by RCBC.
