Refund Due Dates & Policy

The refunding process starts the first day of classes for every semester for all non-financial aid students. Any classes dropped the first day of class are only entitled to a 50% refund, the last day to receive a 50% refund for each semester is listed below. If you have not received your non-financial aid refund in 60 days, please contact the Business Office at extension 1285.

  1. If you are dropping a course for any reason, you can do so through your WebAdvisor account at any time during the drop/add period. After the drop/add period you must visit the Office of the Registrar to submit a Withdrawal form. Your failure to follow one of these procedures will cause you to forfeit any refunds.
  2. Refund amounts are based on the date the Registration Office receives your form, as follows:
  • Fall and Spring Semesters
Drop prior to first day of classes (term): 100% refund
Drop during first ten days of semester: 50% refund
Withdrawal after first two weeks of semester: 0% refund
  • Summer Terms
Drop prior to first day of classes (term): 100% refund
Drop during the first five days of term: 50% refund
Withdrawal after first week of term: 0% refund

Specific withdrawal dates for the current semester and mini-terms are listed on the Academic Calendar.

Processing Your Refund
Tuition refunds are processed during the 60 working days following the last day of the official drop/add period. Refunds are processed first for courses canceled by the College. If you paid by check, RCBC will issue your refund by check. If you paid by bank credit card, your refund will be credited to your credit card account. All check refunds are mailed to the address the College has on file. For a smoother, quicker refund, it is your responsibility to see that your correct mailing address is on record with the College.

Exceptions and Appeals
The College maintains a Committee on Exceptions and Appeals to review any student challenges to the College's stated financial policies. The Committee makes its decision based on the student's written petition as supported by appropriate documentation (i.e., verification of extended hospitalization from a doctor or hospital, transfer orders signed by a military commander, etc.).

Should you wish to appeal a decision, you should file a petition within 90 days of the occurrence which necessitates the appeal. Appeals submitted after 90 days must be supported with extraordinary circumstances to be favorably considered.
