RCBC student is among the top community college scholars in the country

Shortly before the start of the fall 2017 semester, D’Jana Wyllis arrived in New Jersey from her home in the Commonwealth of Dominica, an island of lush mountainous rainforests with many rare plants, animal and bird species. That transition became very difficult a few weeks later when a hurricane devastated the island back home and Wyllis couldn’t communicate with her family.

Proud mother, wife and child advocate

Heather Casparro graduated from RCBC in May 2018 with an associate degree in Human Services with a perfect 4.0 GPA, she is currently serving as an Alumni Trustee. In the fall Casparro will be finishing her bachelor’s in Behavioral Sciences from Wilmington University, where she has also achieved straight A’s and recognition on the dean’s list.

From Rowan to an Ivy League law school

Tyler Burrell has a knack for making the most out of his opportunities.

His decision to attend Rowan College at Burlington County in 2014 allowed him to earn a high-quality degree, experience a vibrant campus life while staying at home where he became involved in the Delran community including the school board, town government and volunteerism.

When Bernadette Wright graduated high school in 1974, she aspired to be a legal or medical secretary even though African-Americans held only 25 percent of the jobs in clerical occupations. Four years later, she achieved her goal when she started her career at Rowan College at Burlington County as a faculty secretary.
