Marie Totzke

German alumna reflects on time at RCBC

Although a college education is free in Germany, Marie Totzke left her homeland to pursue an American education at Rowan College at Burlington County.

“It is free, but you don’t have those same kind of interactions or opportunities as you do in an American university,” said Totzke, 26.

Jessica O’Shea, an Army National Guard officer and domestic violence survivor, made strides to gain financial independence from her husband after being a stay at home mom to their four children for nearly a decade.

Lori Niles, of Burlington, and Morgane Lohner, of Pennsauken, won first and second place, respectively, in Rowan College at Burlington County’s National Distance Learning Week Scholarship Essay Contest, sponsored by the Distance Education Office, RCBC Foundation, and the College Bookstore, which is managed by Follett.
