By participating in my academic journey and many extracurriculars at RCBC, I learned valuable skills such as pushing myself to go further, team-building, leadership, good listening, problem-solving and more that help aid in accomplishing my dream of working for the government and as a psychiatrist.

A glimmer of hope emerged when I learned about Rowan College at Burlington County from a family friend. I summoned the courage to embark on a new path.

Don’t make excuses about why you can’t do something; put effort into pursuing your goals

After starting college, I realized I love education, learning new things, challenging myself with new topics, helping others and working for my community. I just love to be able to do impactful things.

Within one year of graduation, more than 95% of RCBC alumni have jobs, working toward their bachelor’s degree or serving in the military, and there’s no doubt that members of the class of 2024 will have similar success

Don’t be afraid to try new things or have new experiences. Sometimes the opportunity only comes once, and you don’t want to regret passing it up. Don’t be afraid to ask for help - we’re all good at something, but we’re not all good at everything - and help when asked. Be kind.

I knew I wanted to do something that could impact the world

Through his studies, Okechukwu has gained a profound understanding of how to care for patients, manage their medical needs and offer comfort and support to those struggling.

After talking with Career Prep, they helped me get prepared for this interview and took the time to review and edit my resume. Within two days, I received a job offer, and the rest is history
